If you have bought this book, or even borrowed it, you must be in desperate straits. After all, reporting is painful – and anything radical doubly so.

You may see reporting, and individual reports, as a problem to solve. True enough, they tend to linger on most office workers’ to-do lists. Many people admit to loathing reports – both writing and reading them. Some may claim to love writing them, to find the process easy: “The words just flow,” they say. I suspect their readers don’t always love reading the result quite so much.
