The application is using a default background that is displayed for the surface, but it's also possible to dynamically change this background image. The initial application comes with a default 360 degree background image. To change this, you'd need to either make your own 360 degree panorama images or download some from the internet. Creating your own 360 degree images is possible with special cameras or by downloading an application on your mobile device. Online images can be found on numerous stock photo websites.
