19.1    Theory

IN Chapter 18, we introduced a few of the basic techniques that can be used to generate a binary phase shift-keying (BPSK) signal. Since there are an unlimited number of different forms and specifications associated with the generation of a BPSK signal, it should not be surprising that there are just as many variations of the receiver. In this chapter, we will introduce only one of these forms and a few of the techniques that can be used to recover the message contained within the BPSK signal.
