Modeling of circuit components

Abstract

In addition to power electronic devices, passive components, power sources and transformers are also important in the power electronic converters. In this chapter the passive components are first modeled by Ohm’s law, based on which the companion circuit models of the inductor and capacitor are derived. In the circuit model the power sources can be represented by the independent power sources and controlled power sources. Considering that the modern power electronic converter is usually used to interface the renewable energy the realistic power sources including the batteries, fuel cells, photovoltaic panel, and the wind power plants are modeled in this chapter. Moreover the transformer models are presented ...
