Chapter Three. Basic Image Editing

There are several reasons that you will decide to edit your images. Sometimes you employ an image editor to fix mistakes, such as exposure or color problems, or to remove sensor dust or optical artifacts. At other times, you edit your images because your camera has a limited dynamic range, and it’s not possible to achieve in-camera the image that you had in mind while shooting. You might also choose to edit your images because the result you’re trying to create requires special effects such as compositing.
