Why Is My Text Two Sizes?

You select text with the Type tool and discover that the text size in the Character panel or Control panel shows a second size in parentheses. You highlight the contents of the font size field and type a new value, but the text becomes a size you didn’t expect, and you still see a second value in parentheses (Figure 11.26).
