How did you get involved in video compression?
I picked it up when I worked for Deepend in London. There was one other guy doing compression at the time, and the workload grew to be too big for just one person, so I picked up some of the work. My first solo job was the trailer for Gladiator for the distributor’s UK Web site, and it had to be perfect. So, it was pretty intense on-the-job training.
