By now you are probably anxious to get your hands dirty with some coding and to see Web services in action. This section introduces you to the mechanics of creating and invoking Web services in VB 6 and VB .NET. The intent is to expose you to the tools rather than to provide detailed coverage of how Web services work. The remainder of this book focuses on the inner workings of Web services and the tools you use, including the Microsoft SOAP Toolkit and .NET. See Chapters 5 and 6 for details on building Web services with the SOAP Toolkit and .NET respectively.
