CHAPTER 10To Find Happiness, You Must “Unbecome”
We've spent the early part of our time together coming to understand ourselves, our real selves, the true person we were born to be. Then, we began to look at what goes wrong, where things get sideways and why. Last but not least, we began to put things back in the right place, to realign our mental operating system on the correct core beliefs, the optimal beliefs we were born with.
It is impossible to boot or reboot our brain if the fundamental programs of our mental operating system (ultimate responsibility, limitless ability to learn) are not properly in place. We've all experienced that moment of abject horror when our computer, tablet, or phone gives us the “screen of death” and refuses to start up. We fear all will be lost and our device won't work for us anymore. Although no one relishes having a broken piece of technology in their hand, what many people fail to realize is that the most important piece of technology they hold—their mind—has been broken, or at the very least compromised, for the better part of their life.
