One of the many drawbacks of being between jobs is that now you have more time to talk to people—people who couldn’t even break your stride when you were busy running from one appointment and project to the next. The problem here is that these people have more time to talk to you—talk you into saying yes to so-called deals that could fritter your cash, evaporate your savings, or threaten your identity or credit rating.
