3.3 Storage

Nickel-cadmium cells can be successfully stored under a wide range of temperature and humidity conditions. Since some level of storage is part of virtually every battery application it is important to understand the effects of storage on both battery performance and battery life.

Storage effects can be divided into two classes: short-term effects relating to the loss of charge from a charged battery and long-term effects that may decrease battery life if the battery is improperly stored.

3.3.1 SHORT-TERM STORAGE EFFECTS (SELF-DISCHARGE)
