Final Assembly and Mastering
General guidelines are presented here for final assembly and best practice for matching levels between pieces, how much pause time should go between movements and pieces on the same album, use of room tone, a discussion of loudness levels in general, and use of compression in classical music when necessary.
Mastering an album of classical music program is rather a different process than for other genres, as the final mix normally addresses all issues including timbral settings, dynamic range, and image width.
