Limitations to design predictions

10.1  Room responses

Much of the space in this book could have been filled up with corresponding plots of the reverberation times (RT60) and the energy/time curves for each of the rooms discussed and for each of the photographs shown. The waterfall plots for each room could also have been discussed, and indeed, many people would perhaps have expected such, but specifications often tell us very little about the perceived sound characteristics that we have been discussing. What is more, in the wrong hands, they can be misleading, so perhaps we had better take a look at some of the different representations, and their different uses.
