Achieving superior quality in the recorded voiceover is a result of the interaction of three factors: The room, the voice, and the microphone. In the following two chapters, we’ll look at each of these. This chapter deals with the studio space and acoustics; Chapter 4 will delve into how speech is produced, and how the microphone captures the spoken word. Please be aware that this chapter is not meant to be a comprehensive examination of the subject of acoustics, but rather an introduction to the subject for the purpose of achieving a good-sounding recording in the studio.
