Chapter 8 examines what to do now that the candidate has been offered a position. The candidate must decide if the job and the benefits package are worth accepting. It is important to realize that finding a new position is not the end of the process. Today’s professionals need to keep their résumés up to date. They should be alert to new opportunities for skill growth and professional development, and be vigilant in looking for new career goals. It is important to avoid the passivity and professional stagnation that made the last career downturn so difficult to manage. Avoiding the mistakes of the past is a key to a sustainable career in the future.
