I helped prep a senior executive (and cofounder) for an interview with a job candidate who was shortlisted for another senior-level role. Afterward, I walked the candidate out and asked, “How did the interview go?” Without expression, she replied, “Interesting,” which indicated she was not interested in the role. I shared the candidate’s response with the cofounder and asked him a similar question, “So, what did you think?” to which he replied, “I’d go to lunch with her, but I wouldn’t want to have drinks or dinner with her.”
