Appendix C. The GNU General Public License

In This Appendix

Note

Without a doubt, GNU/Linux (and every other distribution, including Red Hat) owes much of its success to Richard Stallman, the Free Software Foundation, and the GNU General Public License. Without the freedom to freely distribute software in source code form, and the ability to make and share changes, Linux may not have spread and improved as quickly as it did over the Internet.
