Abstract

Emphasis of this research work is on examining the significance of e-learning in Indian higher education system. e-Learning is a mode to remove all the communication hindrances between an instructor and a learner located in different areas. Although Indian education system is adapting to use latest technology-based teaching and learning methods, but still a big gap exists in accessibility, acceptance, transformation of teaching pedagogies and quality of education. This study presents an exhaustive literature review related to emerging trends and notions presented by educationists even before COVID-19, linked with improvement and advancement of higher education. This study delves deep into opportunities, relevance of e-learning along with its advantages and disadvantages and wrap up with some instigating dilemmas related to e-Learning in India.
