Chapter 4. Phase 2—Measuring the Process

Phase 2 of the transition toward agility is to implement some basic measurement of the process. Watching a few simple metrics over time will help the team know their capabilities and recognize potential optimizations to the process. It is true that people with experience in these areas can make some recommendations to the team based on their intuition, but these metrics will help even the inexperienced team focus on changes that will have maximum impact. The purpose of this phase is to add some detail to your feedback with carefully selected metrics.
