Building your digital skills
Picture the scene. A group of business leaders get together to discuss strategic and political issues of the day, perhaps hosted by a headhunter or consulting firm. Someone around the table refers to a news item from earlier that day. “Oh”, you say, “I never read the news.” That doesn’t sound very plausible, does it?
How about a different scenario where the discussion turns to returns on investment for some project or another. “Actually,” you say, “I can’t really do sums like that.” Also not sounding good?
And yet, it is still somehow acceptable to say that we don’t really do social media or don’t have a clue how websites work. Within a few years, however, admitting to this degree of digital ignorance ...
