CHAPTER 4: BAD BEGINNINGS
As soon as we were outside of hearing range from Madhu’s office, Zak pushed me into a conference room and slammed the door behind us. It was one of those tiny conference rooms with a table much too big for it. And of course they had put in the number of chairs the table could support rather than the number that would fit in the room.
Squeezing around the crowd of chairs, Zak grabbed the nicest looking one and threw himself down into it, plopping his notebook down on the table. He leaned back in the chair, as if somehow by pushing against the wall he could magically make the room expand.
Without warning, his chair collapsed and Zak tumbled onto the carpet. I tried hard not to laugh. It was good to see him stumble. But ...
