Abstract
The methodology described in this chapter enables determining the series impedance of high-voltage (HV) and extra high-voltage (EHV) lines passing through urban and/or suburban areas, where, as is well known, they are surrounded by many known and unknown metal installations typical for these areas. The main problem appears because of the fact that many of the surrounding metal installations are situated under the surface of the ground and cannot be visually determined or verified.
