KENT BOWEN joined the Harvard Business School faculty in 1992 as part of the technology and operations management unit. For more than twenty years he was a professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he cofounded Leaders for Manufacturing, a collaborative education and research effort between the schools of engineering and management. He holds both a bachelor’s degree and a doctorate in engineering, the former from the University of Utah and the latter from MIT.
