6.1 What is Meant by Lineament?

It is an interesting question that leads to understanding perfectly the economic geology, both petroleum geology and mining geology. Lineament is one of the significant geological structures that features such faults. Consequently, there are several lineament definitions. From a geological point of view, lineament is a linear (Figure 6.1) or curvilinear (Figure 6.2) feature of a surface whose chunks line up in a straight or considerably arched affiliation.
