Cloud fraction monitoring can be performed on a planetary scale with Sentinel-5P remote sensing data. Obtaining cloud properties with the Sentinel-5P satellite's TROPOMI sensor is based on the OCRA and ROCINN algorithms currently in use in the GOME and GOME-2 operational products.
