RIB Syntax

This chapter explores the organization and syntax of RIB files. A lot of how RenderMan (and 3D graphics) works can be learned by “tinkering” with RIB files. The knowledge you gain by doing so will help you in putting your own RIB files together, modifying existing ones and debugging ones which do not quite produce the images you want. It will also help you understand RIB file fragments that are used throughout the rest of the book for illustrating rendering concepts.
