REQUIREMENTS MANAGEMENT OVERVIEW
To describe the relationship between requirements management and project management, an understanding of the definitions of a project, a requirement, and project management is needed. A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide) – Fifth Edition defines these terms as follows:
- Project. A temporary endeavor undertaken to create a unique product, service, or result.
- Requirement. A condition or capability that is required to be present in a product, service, or result to satisfy a contract or other formally imposed specification.
