Introduction to Research
Research is the application of scientific methods to problem solving. It has not always been evident to teachers and other educators that scientific methodology is important in education. Very likely, this neglect of scientific methodology has occurred because research has been considered irrelevant to educators. Teachers have too many practical problems to worry about ivory tower research, or at least the belief goes thus. During this era, research has moved from the periphery to the centre of our social and economic life. Most of us recognize that the progress in our society has largely been a result of research.
