Abstract
The present paper analyzes the public information service “ExTender,” which aims at providing Italian SMEs with information on upcoming or ongoing tenders abroad, in order to reduce the asymmetries between SMEs and large firms. The analysis shows that companies seem to approach the public procurement market relying on their business development experiences in Italy and abroad, and as a result of the resources they have when competing for markets.
