The death of Chadwick Boseman, who starred as Black Panther in the record-breaking Marvel movie about a utopian world named Wakanda, had an immense impact on me.

Maybe it was because by the time we heard of his passing so much had happened. Maybe it's because of the faces of millions of children who were giddy about having a superhero who looked like them. It was likely a mix of all of these things.

Regardless of the exact reason, it made me recenter on my own internal “why.” What legacy am I leaving and how can I solidify this within the span of my life, however long that will be? How can I not just be successful in terms of building a company where not only team benefits from it, but that from its success hundreds of other opportunities for others emerge? What was so powerful about Chadwick Boseman was that a young Black kid from South Carolina accomplished his wildest dreams. His life is a reminder that each of us can do the same.

The Role Technology Plays

I think to what we are building at Resilia; it's time to shift our collective thinking about what it means to be a society that provides equal opportunity, and technology has a role in this.
