In January 2015, faith leaders at Congregación León de Judá, Boston’s largest Spanish-speaking Protestant church, hosted me for the most memorable event of my inauguration. One by one, a dozen or so ministers, rabbis, priests, and other religious leaders spoke to more than a thousand attendees who filled the massive modern sanctuary in Roxbury.
“We will be partnering with you, we will be praying with you, we want you to use us as a resource, as allies, as people who would want to be there in moments of need, to provide whatever counsel we can provide from our spiritual perspective,” said Rev. Roberto Miranda, the leader of the Protestant church.1
