Common ITAM “Critical Fields”

Following is a list of data record fields and inputs typically flagged as “critical” for Pragmatic ITAM purposes. This list includes the usual field name, notes about the information it carries, the usual source that can deliver the data to the CMDB or Asset MDR, and ease of automation. Ease of automation represents the following degrees of difficulty:

Easy—should be expected as part of any action

Medium—requires some procedural changes or manual research efforts

Hard—no expectation of automated data entry
