The genesis of Pragmatic ITAM arises from the struggles information technology asset managers have with organizing, tracking, and managing their hardware and software assets. Nearly every technology executive has a wealth of knowledge about what their business needs in order to be technologically efficient. But when I start to probe into their current ITAM practices (if they have any at all), I usually uncover little more than a vague notion that they “could be doing better.”
