The Alignment: Defining Needs and Objectives
This chapter presents the first step of a results-based approach to meetings and events: defining the initial needs for the meeting and the corresponding objectives. If needs are not clearly defined early in the process, a less than optimal meeting may be the result, creating inefficiencies and uncertainties. In a worse case scenario, it could be a complete failure. This chapter explores the different levels of needs assessments to ensure that the meeting or event is necessary and is linked to important organizational and individual needs.
