Moving Forward

The question is: What are you going to do differently today and tomorrow on the way to next month and next year? The short answer is change. Unless you're already performance-focused, optimizing execution, and facilitating innovation, there's room for improvement.

The very first thing to do is to stop doing what we are doing. That, arguably, is impossible, yet there needs to be fundamental change. We have to stop being order-takers and start being performance consultants and improvement facilitators. We need to stop taking what SMEs say they do and what people need, and really investigate. And we have to stop believing we can get meaningful behavior change out of an information dump.
