Throughout this book we have aimed to work within the four key phases stated in our introduction: project definition, project sourcing, project integration and project delivery. It is in project delivery that we aim to achieve ‘right first time’. Project delivery, plainly, is what all efforts are directed towards. It is the final stage before the disbanding of the project team, as suggested in the PMI project definition we encountered earlier: “a temporary endeavour undertaken to create a unique project service or result.” Projects are temporary and close down on completion of the work they were chartered to deliver.
