14. Concluding Thoughts
The previous chapters focused on the technical aspects of designing a project. Certainly, you can view project design as a technical design task. After practicing project design for decades, I find that it is actually a mindset, not just an expertise. You should not simply calculate the risk or the cost and try to meet your commitments. You must strive for a complete superiority over every aspect of the project. You should prepare mitigations for everything the project can throw at you—which requires going beyond the mechanics and the numbers.
