Partnerships and Stakeholder Engagement

The executive director of a (fictional) community resource center, Ms. Kathryn Lemay (Kathryn), was planning to propose a 1-day outdoor community fundraising event to her board. The center provided summer activities in the arts for underprivileged children. The center needed to have a strong reception to this annual fundraising event if it was to have any hope of continuing with their mandate in any meaningful manner. She knew that the board members were nonsupportive because of the problems they experienced the previous year.
