Chapter 4. Keys & the Keyboard

There are a number of important keys on your keyboard that are particularly useful. They come in handy for shortcuts, manipulating images, accessing alternate characters, and any number of things in specific applications.

All keyboards have certain standard characters, although they may appear in different places on different models. No matter where they are placed, though, all the keys perform the same function (although the function of some keys may vary within different programs).

Don’t forget to look at the underside of your keyboard and pull out that little lever that puts your keyboard at a slight tilt; the tilt is a better position for your hands.
