Using Icon View

As I mentioned on page 66, you can view the contents of a Finder window in three different ways, one of them as icons. Icons are the pictures that represent the various types of files on your computer. The biggest advantage to viewing windows in icons is that you can quickly and easily tell what is a folder, an application, a document, e. (see Chapter 7 about icons).

To view a window as icons: Click the Icon View button in the Toolbar (shown circled, below). Or go to the View menu and choose “As Icons.”
