Chapter 10. How to Use Folders

Folders are essential to organizing your work on the Mac. Folders are, of course, visual representations of our office and home environments, and they function in much the same way.

You can consider your computer to be a big filing cabinet. When you store items in a filing cabinet, you don’t just toss them in the drawer, do you? Can you imagine what a mess your filing cabinet would be without folders? A Macintosh can become just as messy and just as difficult to find work in if you don’t have some sort of organizational system. It’s very important to learn to take advantage of the folders.
