Selecting Multiple Files in List View

If you view your window as icons or columns, you can select items from only one window or column at a time. But in List View, you can expand the folders and select any number of files from any number of expanded folders within that one window, as shown in the examples below.

Drag the selection marquee

Just as in Icon View, you can drag to select files that are next to each other: Press in a white space in the window next to a file name and start to drag. The colored selection marquee will appear when you drag, and any item that is even partially enclosed within the marquee will be added to the selection.
