Trashing Files when Dock is Hidden

You might have chosen to hide your Dock (as explained on page 123). If so, you can’t see the Trash basket. But don’t worry—as you drag a file down toward the Dock, it will pop up, you can drop the file in the Trash, and then the Dock will hide again. Or you can use any of the methods below to throw away a file without ever having to see the basket.
