Preview
Preview is a great little application that not only displays your photos and PDF files, but has quite a powerful image-conversion feature built in.
First of all, you’ve probably already noticed that when you double-click on many photos and other images, they automatically open in Preview, as shown directly below. You can zoom in on an image (enlarge it) and zoom out. You can flip it vertically or horizontally and then save it in that new rotation. You can copy images in Preview and then paste them into an icon’s Info window to change the icon image (see page 117 for details on that).
