So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Share Mac OS 9 Files with Mac OS X
Connect the two Macs per one of the suggestions on page 630. Actually, you can share files with Macs running System 7.1, as well as up through Mac OS 9.2. Do the following four steps on the Mac running OS 9 (or earlier), then connect as usual from your Mac OS X machine. This is a great way to transfer files from your older Mac to your new one.
Set up File Sharing in Mac OS 9:
- Go to the Apple menu, slide down to “Control Panels,” and choose “File Sharing.”
- Follow each of the callouts below to set up File Sharing properly.
If you’re connecting to a Mac running System 7 through 8.1, you’ll find this in the Sharing Setup control panel.
