Before we really get into building robots, I thought I’d share a selection of DIY robots that you may have seen over the past few years. They’re fascinating in their diversity and in the way the builders came up with clever solutions for the problems they encountered.

Most of the builders don’t make robots professionally. They may not be rank beginners—they’ve been doing this for a few years. However, they are folks like you and me who want to play around with motors and microcontrollers.
