Most companies that enjoy consistent and repeatable outcomes in product development follow a standardized process that is adapted to the characteristics of their business model. Whether or not their process is a good one may be an open question. Likewise, whether or not a company actually achieves competitive advantages in following its process is also a question for an assessment.
