After customers’ needs are understood and translated into technical requirements, the backbone of any product development project becomes critical parameter management (CPM). CPM is intended to ensure that all product characteristics affecting attributes important to customers are characterized, specified, and in compliance with requirements. We could argue that everything discussed so far is aimed at understanding behaviors of product characteristics that are really important. You can then evaluate risks.
