Jakob Nielsen describes it as “unglamorous” and it really is: figuring out who to recruit, finding them, scheduling appointments, and getting them to show up.
I’ve never been fond of it myself. Maybe it’s because it’s the only part of the process that really doesn’t have all that much to do with usability. Or maybe because I’m just not temperamentally suited to it. (It helps to be well organized and to enjoy talking to strangers.) Some people are very good at it, and some actually enjoy ...
