OBJECT MODE TRANSFORMS

For the purposes of this text, the term Object mode refers to the state in which you manipulate your shapes as one object and don’t alter individual points. Working with shapes in Object mode will allow you to keep your mattes consistent, and as has been mentioned once or twice, mattes need to appear consistent throughout a shot. If a comper is going to use those mattes, they’re going to have to be accurate. The most effective way to achieve accuracy when animating the shape over a range of frames is to work with it as a whole rather than moving individual points.
